Kowsar Khan

Founder & President

Kowsar Khan was born in Bangladesh and moved to Reno, Nevada at the age of six. Raised with the belief that education and service go hand in hand, he developed a deep interest in healthcare and community impact early in life. After completing high school and Emergency Medical Technician training, Kowsar traveled to Bangladesh in 2008—a trip that changed the course of his life.

While there, he witnessed a young boy being struck by a tok tok (baby taxi). Kowsar immediately administered emergency medical care and transported the child to a government hospital. That experience exposed him to the urgent gaps in Bangladesh’s healthcare system and sparked a lifelong commitment to improving medical access, infrastructure, and quality of care in underserved communities.

Kowsar graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2013 with a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship. During his university years, he founded Duwell International, a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening healthcare systems in both Bangladesh and the United States, while creating opportunities for academic collaboration and medical research.

Since 2010, Kowsar has built extensive experience in nonprofit leadership, project development, and international operations. He spends significant time in Bangladesh overseeing medical initiatives, legal structuring, and facility development, while closely collaborating with Duwell’s board of directors and executive teams in both Reno and Dhaka.

He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Finance to support Duwell’s long-term growth, sustainability, and strategic development.

Kowsar’s vision remains clear: to build a stronger, more accessible healthcare system for Bangladesh and create a global platform where innovation, education, and compassion come together to serve communities in need.
